I love a list. Especially someone else’s! So, now that we are halfway through the year, I thought I’d share the 22 lessons that 2022 has taught me so far.

Here goes…

1.       Saying ‘yes’ to a coffee date can lead to a great new connection.

2.       You still need to be prepared for change, even post pandemic.

3.       You’ll never regret moving your body, even for just 10 minutes.

4.       We are lucky to call Australia (even with it’s many faults,) home.

5.       Trying new things within your business become easier when you practice.

6.       Making time for silence makes the noisiness more fun.

7.       A 60 minute Hot Yoga class is the work of the devil.

8.       Women in regional areas are damn impressive and should be celebrated more.

9.       Putting the time into knowing your ‘numbers’ in both home and work life will be worth it and empowering as heck when it comes to decision making about your future.

10.   You can make the greatest new friends as an adult and wonder what you ever did without them?!?!

11.   Making time to continually learn and educate yourself is never wasted. Keep going, even though it might be hard and the ‘juggle’ feels more like a completely out of control circus act.

12.   It’s impossible to be an ‘expert’ and know ALL the things ALL the time. Being a ‘knowledgeable contributor’ is still just as helpful and a much more realistic label. No matter your industry.

13.   Booking a trip somewhere new (even if it’s ages away) is great for motivation!

14.   There’s a need for more real life events for the modern women that are chic, fun, insightful and less cheesy. #watchthisspace.

15.   It’s OK to walk away from work that doesn’t align with your values.

16.   Don’t take a sunshine-y day for granted.

17.   Shopping for cushions can be just as fun as shopping for shoes (Hello Clo Studios. Hello Jumbled.)

18.   Never underestimate the power of a genuine show of support or encouragement for another woman.

19.   Life really is short and unexpected, unimaginable things happen. Book the trip, cheers the champagne, eat the chocolate.

20.   Building a successful business and a brand with longevity takes time, don’t lose heart when you hit a dead end. (or many dead ends!)

21.   You don’t have to do things the way ‘everyone’ else does. Your own lane is just that, yours.

22.   Iceberg lettuce is overrated anyway.
